This blog is for all of you out there who live for moments of escapism. Daydreaming away boring meeting, meditating through long commutes, gazing into the future for distraction, events, vacations, or other blips on an otherwise mundane schedule.
As a Boston native and current resident, I have a more personal reason for kick starting the blog now, but if you want a little fodder for your day dreams, some food for thought, let me help you out.
A few years ago I quit my job, sold my furniture, and did that whole backpack around the world thing. I stopped for a while in different places and I sped my way through others. I unpacked my bags long-term a few times and repacked them countless other times.
I fell out of love with modern American amenities. I fell in love with a country. And then another. And then another. I found enduring love to last a lifetime. Its name was Pho and I found it on a street corner in Vietnam. I awakened new taste buds and burned off others with the flavors of Thailand. I journeyed along the equator for nearly three years where I witnessed heartbreaking beauty and sadness all in one.
I lost myself deeply, found myself truly, forgot myself completely, and returned home to find it would never really be home again.
Come begin this journey with me as I explore stories, memories, recommendations, and happy mishaps from 20 countries, 4 continents, and many many miles.
